10 April:  Boosting Innovation: Spectrum AMT Expands in Colorado Springs  We had a groundbreaking press event at #SpaceSymposium2024, where we announced that Spectrum AMT has received unanimous approval from the Colorado Economic Development Commission (EDC) for Job Growth Incentive Tax Credits. This is a significant milestone for us, as it allocates $1,281,974 over eight years for the creation of up to 101 net new jobs in Colorado.

20 October:  We attended the Colorado Chamber's 'Coolest Thing Made in Colorado' award ceremony, where the OcuLenz AR headset was named runner up in this year's contest. Created by Ocutrx Technologies, Inc., the OcuLenz's circuit board manufacturing and final assembly of the headset will be manufactured right here in Colorado Springs. It's an honor to share this experience with the team!

3 October:  Ocutrx Technologies, Inc. Appoints Jeff Gilbert as Chief Operating Officer of Subsidiary Spectrum Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, Inc. Management Addition Will Drive the U.S. Commercialization Strategy for Ocutrx Augmented Reality and Surgical Visualization Medical Devices and Growth at Spectrum.

20 April:  Colorado Springs manufacturer (Spectrum Advanced Manufacturing Technologies) joins augmented reality company (Ocutrx Technologies).


2021

23-26 August:   SPECTRUM will be exhibiting for the 20th consecutive year at the 36th Annual Space Symposium at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, CO.

30 June:  GNOMES 2 (GNSS Navigation and Occultation Measurement Satellite) is successfully launched aboard SpaceX Transporter 2 and deployed in LEO.  SPECTRUM built the electronic assemblies that make up the Pyxis radio occultation instrument.

20 June:  SPECTRUM is selected to provide electronic assemblies for the Grace Roman Space Telescope.

10 May:  SPECTRUM delivers electronic assemblies and cables for the Surface Dust Mass Analyzer (SUDA) instrument for the Europa mission.

5 April:  SPECTRUM delivers electronic assemblies for TSIS-2 (Total and Spectral Solar Irradiance Sensor – 2) which is planned for launch in 2022.

25 January:  SPECTRUM delivers electronic assemblies for the Raytheon AN/AAQ-29 FLIR used on USMC CH-53E Super Stallion, USAF HH-60G Pave Hawk, and USMC V-22 Osprey helicopters/tilt-rotor.  The Symbology PMC Module provides visual overlays for the analog and digital displays.


2020

6 September:  SPECTRUM delivers electronic assemblies for CLARREO (Climate Absolute Radiance and Refractivity Observatory).

3 August:  SPECTRUM delivers electronic assemblies for Deep Space Optical Communications (DSOC) program.  DSOC is scheduled to launch in 2022 aboard the Psyche spacecraft on a mission to the  iron-nickel core of an early planet in our solar system's main asteroid belt.

20 June:  SPECTRUM delivers electronic assemblies for ILLUMA (Integrated LCRD Low-Earth Orbit User Modem and Amplifier Terminal). The Laser Communications Relay Demonstration (LCRD) will demonstrate technology to increase bandwidth up to 100 times more than provided by RF systems, by using lasers.

19 June:  SPECTRUM is awarded a 5-10 year IDIQ prime contract from Navy Crane NSWC to supply circuit card assemblies for Armed Helo Weapon's Systems.


2019

19 September:  SPECTRUM delivers electronic assemblies for the Emirates Mars Ultraviolet Spectrograph (EMUS).

20 June: SPECTRUM delivers electronic assemblies for HISIE.

8-11 April:  SPECTRUM will be exhibiting at the 35th National Space Symposium held at the Broadmoor Hotel and Conference Center in Colorado Springs, CO for the 20th consecutive year.

7 March:  SPECTRUM delivers electronic assemblies for the PSYCHE Mission.

2 February, 29 April:  SPECTRUM delivers electronic assemblies for the Surface Dust Mass Analyzer (SUDA) instrument for the Europa mission.

2018

3 December:  SPECTRUM is awarded a prime contract under the Navy SeaPort-Next Generation (NxG) solicitation for engineering services-prototyping, pre-production, fabrication, and process engineering support.

SPECTRUM is chosen to build electronic assemblies for the Mapping Imaging Spectrometer for Europa (MISE).

SPECTRUM is chosen to build electronic assemblies for the Maxar Worldview Legion satellite constellation of 6.

SPECTRUM - built electronic assemblies for STPSat 5, FalconSat 6, and the Compact Spectral Irradiance Monitor (CSIM) are scheduled to launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket between 1 October and 31 December.  The SSO-A SmallSat Express Mission is set to deploy 15 microsatellites and 56 cubesats mounted on Spaceflight, Inc. Sherpa upper and lower free flyers.

17 August:  Denver area’s Front Range Airport was granted a spaceport license by the FAA to serve as a hub for the global suborbital transportation network.  The horizontal launch facility will also serve as a commercial space transportation research and development center.

SPECTRUM is selected as a team member on the NASA/JPL Psyche/DSOC and DART programs.  The Psyche mission will explore an asteroid orbiting the Sun between Mars and Jupiter. The asteroid appears to be the exposed nickel-iron core of an early planet.  Psyche will reach its destination in 2026, at which point the Deep Space Optical Communications payload (laser comm) is expected to transmit the clearest, quickest information ever obtained from an expedition into the solar system.

The Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) will be the first demonstration of a kinetic impact technique to change the motion of an asteroid.  Launch window is December 2020 through May 2021.  The spacecraft is scheduled to intercept asteroid Didymos’ moonlet in early October 2022.

SPECTRUM - built electronic assemblies for the Global-Scale Observations of the Limb and Disk (GOLD) were launched successfully on January 25 to geostationary orbit aboard SES-14 to study weather of the Earth’s thermosphere and ionosphere.


2017

SPECTRUM - built electronic assemblies for the Total Spectral Irradiance Sensor (TSIS-1) were launched successfully on December 15 to the International Space Station to help establish Earth’s total energy input and how it’s atmosphere responds to changes in the Sun’s output.

SPECTRUM delivers the 1200th fast steering mirror drive electronics to Ball Aerospace used in the Northrop Grumman AN/AAQ-24 Guardian Directional Infrared Countermeasures pod.


2016

Sierra Nevada Corp Space Systems Group selects SPECTRUM as their 2016 Small Business Supplier of the Year.

30 September:  SPECTRUM NASA Prime Contract NNK08EB73B awarded 30 June 2008 by Kennedy Space Center is closed out.  SPECTRUM was 1 of 5 contractors selected to provide Electrical Ground Support Equipment to reconfigure launch facilities for the Constellation Program, which was subsequently cancelled.  No task orders were issued.

20 August:   SPECTRUM delivers the final electronic assemblies to the US NAVY under contract N00164-11-D-JN89.  The five year IDIQ contract was for material procurement, assembly, staking, coating, and testing of 8 circuit card assembly types.  Over 2600 assemblies were delivered.


2015

SPECTRUM is selected to build MK-48 Heavyweight Torpedo regulator assemblies for Foreign Military Sales and the Production Restart for Prime contractors SAIC and Lockheed Martin.  Deliveries are scheduled through 2023.

21 December:  SPECTRUM - built electronic assemblies in 11 ORBCOMM OG2 satellites were launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and successfully deployed.

4 November:  SPECTRUM signs 5 year contract to provide circuit card and cable assemblies to University of Colorado Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics.

23 July:  SPECTRUM has been selected to team with Barber-Nichols Inc. of Arvada, CO to provide the Alternator/Regulator subassembly for the MK-48 Heavyweight Torpedo.  US Navy Prime Contract N66604-15-C-3045 is a 5 year effort to provide up to 180 MK-48 Torpedos for Foreign Military Sales.
