JOB TITLE: Quality Inspector (Level I-IV)

EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediately

SALARY RANGE: $21.00 – $25.00

SUMMARY:
Under the leadership of a Quality manager working with limited or no supervision, Quality Inspectors will complete a variety of tasks to ensure product compliance to established quality standards. The Quality Inspector performs inspection of manufactured or other process output against documented Spectrum specifications per the product drawings, inspection procedures and other site quality control documentation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for visually verifying product to certified inspection and customer standards.
  • Ensures product is consistent with established specifications and escalates quality issues as appropriate.
  • Ensures highest possible product quality and adherence to the Spectrum quality system, ISO and/or other standards.
  • Inspection of products against documented Spectrum specifications.
  • Maintains proper use and care of measurement equipment.
  • Sets up or runs current program files on automated equipment when required for part inspection.
  • Effectively communicates product status to the quality manager and management.
  • Show the ability to take the initiative on issues with little or no direction.
  • Must comply to IPC ESD standards once trained and certified.
  • Has a basic understanding and follows Spectrum Safety policies and procedures.
  • Execute Engineering Work Requests as required by the engineering teams.
  • Ensure there is a basic awareness of hazardous material(s) using (MSDS) Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Ensure all discrepant material control procedures are followed. Also, recognize counterfeit components and how to avoid opportunities for use.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve throughput, yields, and/or reduce costs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and/or 3-year manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite.
