SUMMARY:
Program Managers are responsible for overseeing the development of programs that support the organization’s main objective. Program Managers contribute technically to and influence cross-functional teams and individuals in fast paced environments, while demonstrating effective leadership and interpersonal skills and providing clear and concise direction and communication.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• A Program Manager oversees programs, developing “bottoms-up” program plans (schedule, budget, risk assessment/mitigation), to meet tight schedules, budgets and aggressive deliverables, while ensuring that activities are carried out in accordance with established procedures and Spectrum’s standardized best practices.
• The Program Manager has overall “end to end” responsibility for the financial and technical success of the program. The Program Manager meets with cross-functional team members on a regular basis to review program status, identify/mitigate program risks, and plan future tasks and actions.
• This position is also responsible for maintaining regular verbal and written
communications with customers, key internal stakeholders, and program sponsor.
• The Program Manager is ultimately responsible for the overall team and program performance and success.
• The Program Manager is the final arbiter on all program decisions within the facility.
• The Program Manager contributes technically to and influences cross-functional teams and individuals in fast paced environments, while demonstrating effective leadership and interpersonal skills and providing clear and concise direction and communications.
• The Program Manager also supports “bid and proposal” activities and prepares customer requested quotes for new and follow-on programs.

Program Manager education and training requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university, or three to five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
