JOB TITLE: Senior Supply Chain Buyer/Planner

SUMMARY: Spectrum AMT, Inc. is seeking a motivated Senior Supply Chain Buyer/Planner that coordinates all aspects of the procurement of materials and/or contract services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and manages all aspects of the procurement of materials and/or supplies.
- Leads strategically critical projects that bring exceptional value to the company through total cost reduction, key supplier relationships, commodity focus, supplier consolidation, cost/benefit financial analysis, and supplier quality management.
- Ensures compliance with government and appropriate corporate policies and procedures for purchasing/subcontract activities.
- Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Prepares purchase orders and bid requests.
- Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budget and time limitations and scope of authority.
- Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to assure departmental effectiveness and compliance.
- Obtains purchasing specifications for programs based on functional requirements.
- Works with Program Management to determine purchase requirements; generates and reschedules purchase orders for sourced goods.
- Prepares required reports; provides detailed analysis of purchased goods.
- Monitors inventory position against sales forecast and customer orders to maintain acceptable safety stock levels.
- Maintains vendor evaluation program and reports on on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
- Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Responsible for all of the procurement activities, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
- Calculates material costs and lead times for quotes, bids and future projects.
- Gathers and consolidates quotes from subcontractors/suppliers/vendors.
- Leads communications with subcontractors/suppliers/vendors monitoring status of orders, lead times, anticipated delivery dates and informs program managers of potential delays.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in related field or equivalent experience.
- Four to six years related experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret and negotiate contracts with vendors/suppliers, etc.

- Proficient on Excel, Netsuite/Oracle, MS Office Suite and Fishbowl.

- Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method.
- Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
