SUMMARY:
The Bid Manager will be responsible for managing the development and submission of complex bids and proposals, particularly focusing on electronic manufacturing, PCB assembly, and contracts with government, DoD, Military, and Aerospace sectors. This role demands a strong technical background and extensive experience with contract regulations, including DoD FAR/DFAR, and various pricing models.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the preparation, submission, and management of complex bids and proposals focused on electronic manufacturing and PCB assembly.
• Work closely with project teams and external partners to ensure all proposal requirements are met.
• Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, maintaining high standards of accuracy and effectiveness under tight deadlines.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and ensuring these are reflected in proposals.
• Provide expert guidance on Firm Fixed Price, Cost Plus Fixed Fee, T&M, and contract change management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including DoD FAR/DFAR.
• Support all aspects of the proposal process from initiation to submission, including document updates, tracking, and proper documentation.
• Utilize excellent written and communication skills to articulate proposal details clearly and persuasively.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.
• 7-10 years of experience in proposal management or bid preparation in the electronic manufacturing industry, specifically PCB assembly.
• 5-10 years of experience dealing with government, DoD, Military, and Aerospace customers.
• Proficient in DoD FAR/DFAR regulations.
• Experience with pricing models such as Firm Fixed Price, Cost Plus Fixed Fee, and T&M.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage various contractual proposal issues.
• Proven ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, both internally and externally.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with CRM systems such as Netsuite or Salesforce, and inventory management software like Fishbowl.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in a relevant field.
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
